And Just Like That Found Its Footing But Is It Too Late

And Just Like That received tons of flack from viewers and critics since its release on December 9, 2021.

The first episode was jarring for lack of a better word. Viewers had to get accustomed to the newly minted trio visually, as women now in their mid-50s, and also mentally, adjusting to where they are now in life. This isn’t the Sex and the City from back in the day when they were four thirty-something single women looking for love.

Some people were critical of their looks, but that’s their issue, because they looked perfectly fine. They’ve aged in the time that passed but that shouldn’t be shocking. Also, there was criticism about them mentioning they were in their 50s several times, but my observation is that people mention their age in day-to-day conversation, especially as they get older.

The finale, Seeing the Light, aired Thursday and I think it was incredible. It embodied all the charm, charisma, and drama of the original series. There was a moment when Carrie went to a bridge in Paris and spread Big’s ashes, that she carried in a small purse, dressed in a beautiful Valentino dress. Only Carrie Bradshaw would play dress up to spread her deceased husband’s ashes, and only Carrie would bring them in a…
