Cell Phones Are Not Making Police Brutality Any Better

I’m tired of people claiming that cell phones have somehow lessened police brutality, or that they’re protecting citizens from harm by waywardly cops.

Every time a new cellphone video of police brutalizing a citizen is released, which seems like daily, there is someone saying where would we be without cellphones or thank God for cellphones.

NEWFLASH!!!!

Police are not afraid of cell phones. Let me repeat — police are not moved by cell phones. Police are rogue, out of control, and untamable.

There’s also always someone who asserts that cell phone footage is allowing citizens to see how brutal police officers are.

Hmmmmm…….

I’ve always known how brutal police officers are. In fact, I’ve seen, and heard about it, firsthand. So, maybe they mean cell phone footage allows white people to see what Black people have always known.

Cellphones might be changing perceptions about police violence, for those who were deep in denial, but that’s not…
