Don’t take my title lightly. It’s not flippant. It’s accurate.

Last Wednesday, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare was murdered in broad daylight in Midtown Manhattan at 6:45 in the morning. Brian Thompson was on his way to a shareholder meeting at a Hilton hotel when he was gunned down by a man in a black hoodie.

UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was heading to the Hilton Midtown Hotel in New York City for an investor conference at roughly 6:45 a.m. Wednesday when an unidentified gunman wearing a hood and mask fired multiple rounds from a pistol in a fatal ambush. New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch has called it a “brazen, targeted attack.”

“This does not appear to be a random act of violence,” she said at a news conference, adding: “Many people passed the suspect, but he appeared to wait for his intended target.”

The social media reaction to the out-in-the-open murder of a man who many viewed as responsible for the death of millions of Americans, through denied insurance claims, was telling. And everyone needs to listen.

Everyone knows healthcare in America is about big business and not keeping people alive. In fact, UnitedHealthcare has one of the worst reputations when it comes to health insurance companies. They deny the most claims…
