I watched Chris Rock’s latest Netflix comedy special, Selective Outrage, on Sunday. Like many people, I watched in anticipation of hearing what Rock would say about Will Smith slapping him across the face at last year’s Academy Awards.

I am a fan of Chris Rock. I think he’s funny. I have always liked his comedy shows, his movies, and his TV shows.

In fact, I think he’s hilarious.

I, however, don’t blame Smith for slapping him, as I understand why he did it.

Let me be frank — Will Smith and Chris Rock are both rich, famous, and successful at what they do. Neither will be getting my sympathy, and neither will be canceled by me personally because of their feud.

I understand arguments that defend both Smith or Rock, and because I will continue to be entertained by both, I’m not here to defend either.

I wrote this last year defending Smith…

Rock’s comedy special showed that he is the one with selective outrage.
