Critical Race Theory is Essentially the Acknowledgement of Systemic and Personal Racism in American Society

If you want to know what critical race theory is, look no further, I’m here to explain it to you.

I know that the definition has been looked at as illusive and complex because it’s taught in higher education and combines several institutions and concepts like law, race, class, law enforcement, the United States Constitution, and sociology.

The teaching of critical race theory has already been banned in states including Mississippi, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Iowa, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. More than half of the states are trying to ban it or restrict its teaching.

Most Americans, including those who oppose it, don’t even know what critical race theory means.

There are two concepts that anti-CRT advocates don’t want taught or acknowledged.

1. Racism is systemic.

2. Due to systemic racism, not most, but all white people are racist. To be racist is the norm, and not the exception. Understanding and acknowledging this is how you dismantle racism.
