Tuesday, May 25, was the one-year anniversary of the murder of George Floyd by ex-police officer Derek Chauvin. Throughout the week, mourners have held 9 minutes and 29 seconds of silence — for the length of time Chauvin knelt on the neck of George Floyd. Floyd was unresponsive for 3 minutes and 51 seconds of that time.
