DOGE And Musk Are Fired Up To Fire Federal Employees Again
This weekend, Elon Musk sent an email through the United States Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to civil federal workers asking them for a list of five things they’d accomplished during the week. Many have interpreted this as Musk, who’s making decisions left and right on which federal agencies should go, and which employees should be slashed, demanding that the employees justify their jobs. Musk initially claimed that he was joking (unless you gone do it). Musk was never joking and he wasn’t trolling the federal employees. He wanted to see how far he could push them, and now that many didn’t comply, we’re about to see his rage.

Elon Musk’s siege of the federal government entered a new phase late Saturday afternoon, when he announced on X that federal workers would soon be receiving an email “requesting to understand what they got done last week,” adding, quite ominously, “Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation.”
A few hours later, millions of federal workers received the promised email sent from the Office of Personnel Management account hr@opm.gov, the same one Musk used to send his “Fork in the Road” email back on Jan. 28.
