Donald Trump Is A Dangerous Man

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it twice — Trump and his rhetoric are dangerous.

He emboldens white racists to act out on their worst instincts. Some people say they like an in-your-face racist as opposed to one who hides it. I don’t. I think racists should keep their backwards, hateful, and demeaning views to themselves. We live in a country where racism is never going to go anywhere, so it’s beyond time to build an equitable society with strict repercussions for those who racially abuse others. Clearly, anti-racism conversations are not enough. Yet, racism is so deeply embedded in all systems — including legal, law enforcement, and government — that it’s practically impossible to enforce the necessary consequences for those who hurt the lives and livelihoods of Black people and other people of color. Especially when the racists are the ones in control and they refuse to even acknowledge racism. Do racists know they’re racist? Of course they do. They also know what they’re doing when they perpetuate it. They simply don’t care and they feel that they are not wrong. So, we find ourselves on this never-ending merry-go-round.

This is why we vote. This is why we never stop fighting. Never underestimate the importance of progress. Progress is what has MAGA Republicans up in arms right now.
