I agree with you that the lack of education about the history of the n-word and its ugliness is why a lot of younger people use the n-word. As they become further and further distanced from the older generations, it will only become worse. I actually learned Black history in school. When I was teaching high school a few years ago, they didn't know anything. They told me, "don't get mad at us, get mad at our teachers." Black history definitely needs to be taught in school to counter this.
