I personally don’t think being the breadwinner makes you the “man of the house” but at least it makes sense. I’m definitely more disturbed by him shaming her and trying to get others to (which they are doing) for wearing that dress and not acting/dressing “like a mother.” He could have told her that personally (that he didn’t like the dress) or kept it to himself. Definitely a lack of respect on his part.
