I think she’s the standard we all aspire to be, and we all secretly wanted her to read our work some day. You really put into words and captured what I felt. I grew up reading The Bluest Eye thinking that it was a children’s book because Pecola was a child. That was my first introduction to her even though I didn’t have a clue who she was.
I LOVE all her work and have literally outlined some of my favorites like Song of Solomon, Sula, and Jazz. I think she is without a doubt the greatest American writer. RIP Toni Morrison!
