I'll probably delete this but recently we, me, my mom, and my sister were asked to hook my mom's friend's son, a doctor, up with someone we knew. We've known them pretty much our whole lives. Black professional men are almost always colorist. It is what it is. I told my mom and sister, without going into details, to choose one person over another. She's not light but half of her family is, and she benefits from featurism/texturism. In other words, she's acceptable for some colorists. Anyhow, they got the person I told them not to excited, and they showed her picture to him. She's nice, kind, professional, all that. He told his mom they'll talk about it while she was on the phone with my mom and my mom was asking what he thought about her. My mom asked his mother again later and she told her curtly, he's not interested. My mom said she was disappointed in them. She believes the problem was that she was not light skinned, long haired, not petite (even though she's not big) because she is pretty. I was like, welp, I tried to tell you...
