I’m not clear why defending her would include being beaten by her attacker. I understand that men have been beaten, sometimes to death, for defending random women. However these men intervene physically. You do not have to physically step in to not sit back and watch a woman, or man, being hit in the face with a brick. Why didn’t anyone say, hey stop. And a group of men, or people, definitely could have stopped him.
