I’m torn! I’m always torn on this topic! I get what you’re saying. Everyone is not beautiful and that’s okay. Looks are too important to society and too many people. Women also starve themselves and get unnecessary surgery chasing what society tells them is beautiful. Women and girls should be taught to focus on more important things than their looks.

But you were never ugly!!!!! Beauty standards do NOT favor Black women and I hate to see Black women and girls feel ugly because they’re not light skinned, their hair is not long, they have Black features, or they’re not thin.

Beauty comes from the inside and it also comes in many many different forms and packages.

I see a beautiful little girl who absolutely did not have ugly features. A high forehead is a universal sign of beauty. Good bone structure. Tall and thin like she could have grown up to model. And a beautiful skin color.

You were beautiful.
