It’s real…

I’m recovering from COVID-19. Physically, I feel fine…back to 100%. However, I’m feeling a little blue…

It took me a while to realize it’s a side effect of being infected with the coronavirus.

This shouldn’t have been surprising because I did know that anxiety and depression were symptoms of both COVID and long-COVID.

Early on in my infection, while I was experiencing symptoms, but before I tested positive, I couldn’t be still! I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

I was running errands — stocking up on medicine, vitamins, and fluids — just in case my body wouldn’t fight off the virus and I had to isolate. I was driving from one side of town to another. Every time I thought I would head home — I thought of something else I would possibly need — like Kleenex. I justified the driving in circles by telling myself I had to go to multiple stores because of the lack of products on shelves in one store. That wasn’t it. I was anxious. I also couldn’t stop cleaning, even after I tested positive for COVID-19. Again — that was anxiety. I did figure this out, however, and I started taking Xanax on a regular schedule.
