Oh wow. Now I have to watch this movie and it’s based on a true story. Horrifying. My sister is also fascinated with England. I’ve read a few books by Black British authors like Zadie Smith. They’re really enlightening.

I also think the Black American diaspora is strong. We really haven’t had a choice.

Chewing Gum, the Michaela Coel tv show, is probably the only Black British show/book/movie I’ve ever seen with Black British characters primary interacting with one another.
