Would there have been a campaign of harassment and a group of alumni and billionaires who would have gotten together to demand the firing of Gay if she weren't Black. No. Also, there have been people, specifically white men, who held her position, or one similar, and done much worse. Trump will probably be re-elected. This is racism and misogynoir. I'm also sure she got the job based on more than her academic record. At least I hope she did.
