The Best Piece of Writing Is The One That You Finish…

The ones that sit in your drafts don’t count.

Also, there’s no such thing as writer’s block.

You’re just being too hard on yourself and what you write — or are able to produce at the moment.

I know this because I’ve been through this before.

I can’t speak for you, but when I have so-called writer’s block, I don’t stare at a blank screen.

At least not at first….

What I do is that I frustrate myself, being too hard on what I write, until I just give up.

It’s a dance of starting, stopping myself, starting again, stopping myself again…ad infinitum.

Accomplishing nothing in the process!!!

It looks something like this:

I have (what I think) is a great idea.

I jot down a few ideas.

I start writing…

But……wait……that doesn’t sound good.

So let me delete that and start again.

I write something else.

But, wait, that sounds even worse.

So I erase that too, and start over.
