The Hole

i have a hole in my heart

as big as Texas

this you know

sometimes the hole is big

huge

gigantic

gaping

sometimes it shrinks

and becomes small

as a needle pin

tiny

minuscule

microscopic

but it’s always there

waiting to devour

can it consume

from the inside out

or is it outside in?
