The World

The world is not cold — we are.

The world is whatever we make it.

And we’ve made it frigid, rigid, barren,

And dying.

Not all of us, but the ones

who benefit from disharmony and strife.

The ones who climb on the backs

of others

to get to the top.

Or the ones who fight their internal demons,

through others,

not seeing everyone as sisters and brothers.

War, pollution, poverty,

Racism, elitism —

the sins of the world.

No —

the sins of people.
