This is all true. I’m the only person in my family who was not baptized Catholic and is not Catholic. My mother became Methodist (CME) before I was born. But my sister was baptized in the Catholic Church. We grew up with my devout Catholic granny in the home with us so I practice Lent sometimes. I taught at a Catholic school, the church my granny attended and I went to preschool there, and my mom also worked there once. But she’s managed to completely move away from her Catholic roots it seems. lol. We only go to mass when it’s something involving extended family (they’re all still Catholic). You’ve given me a lot to think about. Lent is over but there are still some things I need to give up. Possibly for good.
