This is Why DOGE is Ending Remote Work For Federal Employees
Have you wondered why Trump created the Department of Governement Efficiency (DOGE) and why the Republicans are ending remote work for federal employees and forcing them back into the office? The most obvious answer to why they’re forcing federal employees back into the office, even though there’s nothing to gain from it, is they want federal employees to give up their jobs and quit. This is in addition to DOGE firing as many of them as they can. This is being done so that Trump can shrink the federal government so that it’ll be easier for him to control and oversee.
On the one hand, Republicans, or the political group that has evolved into being Republicans, have long believed in having a small federal government and also in letting states govern themselves. This goes back to slavery when “slave states” wanted the right to remain that way, and “free states,” as well as the federal government, wanted to move on from slavery. We are now seeing a continuation of that with the Republican president & vice president, his cabinet, and Republican states wanting to be free to govern in ways that harm citizens with no checks and balances. For example, red states want the right to limit reproductive healthcare, make gay marriage illegal, and ban interracial marriage amongst other things in their states.
