To Block Or Not To Block? That Is The Question.
I think I should block more.
I’m always hesitant to do so, but I’m not sure why.
Maybe it’s because I spend the majority of my social media time on Twitter. On Twitter, people use being blocked, especially by a famous or known person, as a badge of honor.
They might even have in their bio blocked by Obnoxious Politician on January 1, 2021.
Other times, when they get blocked by an obnoxious public figure, they’ll even tweet the news to all their followers — along with what they said to earn the block.
Even if a person is blocked by a regular Twitter user, that can be used for Twitter fodder.
Look, Twitter followers, he or she finally got mad, or tired of being dragged, so they blocked me!
The rules of social media…
I guess what I’m saying is that to a lot of people getting blocked is a win.
It’s a way of knowing you’ve hit a nerve or gotten under the blocker’s skin.
