Why Is It Acceptable To Ridicule Christians?
I saw this a lot on Easter Sunday.
I don’t know what it was about Easter, but I saw a lot of mockery of Christians and Jesus Christ yesterday.
In case you didn’t know, Easter is the celebration of the raising of Jesus Christ from the dead three days after he was murdered by the Romans over 2,000 years ago.
For Christians, this is the most important Christian holiday. The death of Jesus on the cross, and His resurrection, are key tenets of the Christian faith. I don’t force my religion on people nor am I a Bible thumper. I respect the religions of others and the right of people to not have a religion at all.
However, it seems this respect is not reciprocated to Christians.
I am aware of the damage people who proclaimed themselves to be Christians have inflicted upon the world, in what they claimed to be the will of God.
However, that’s not God’s fault. Or Jesus.’ Or the Holy Spirit’s.
From calling God “sky daddy” to insinuating that Christians are “gullible” for believing in the wonders of our faith, there is a lot of vitriol directed towards Christians.
Yet, it would be viewed as religious intolerance if Christians were to say the same things about other faiths or those who don’t practice…
