I have been holding off on writing on this because I didn’t want to be pessimistic or rain on the “Kamala Harris parade” that’s been marching since she announced her bid for the presidency. There has been such a beautiful, light, and heartwarming energy affecting so many of us since Harris announced she was running. After the announcement, support for her blossomed and swelled. Harris quickly raised over half a billion dollars in campaign funds and was leading Donald Trump in every major poll. She has now raised a billion dollars. However, being Black in America, I knew this tide of good feeling would ebb. Or, rather, I should say, I knew we couldn’t let our guards down. While I believe, sincerely, and from the bottom of my heart, that Vice President Harris is going to win the election in November, it is not going to be easy. Or, rather, I should say, the race is going to be tight.

It’s going to be tighter than, I think, what’s predicted. We can’t let up. Right now, according to fivethirtyeight, while Harris is leading Trump, either one of them could realistically win the election on November 5th. I remember back in 2016 when we were told, up until election day, that Hillary Clinton would win. I will never forget that…
