Does that sound like a cliche to you?

I hope it doesn’t because it’s true.

You can be who you choose to be.

This means that your past does not define you.

People’s narratives of you certainly don’t define you.

Older versions of you do exist, but they are not you.

They do not limit who you are capable, or possible, of becoming.

A poem:

To you

To you I would give the stars in the sky

To you I would give the moon

To you I would grant the gift of peace

For you I would sing a tune

I wish there were no tears left for you to cry

But be brave

The world is at your feet
