You're making up stuff. Were you in high school with RG3 or Travis Hunter?????
This is the gaslighting that I cannot stand. I put literal comments from Black men in my article stating that their preference is a lighter skinned Black woman, or nonBlack woman, and this has nothing to do with what Black girls wanted in high school. There is optical evidence of Black men choosing lighter women to marry dating back to the Reconstruction. Did Black women and girls not want to date them in the late 1800s??? Did they not want Fredrick Douglass who eventually ended up with a white woman? Or MLK? Or any of the rest of them? I mean, let's be for real.
There is literal statistical evidence that Black men, once they move simply to the middle class, not even speaking of wealthy, only want to associate with/marry lighter skinned women? These are facts.
Unless you are like Tyler Perry and think any Black man will do for Black women who are considered "undesirable." Even if he can only pay a light bill.
I will bet money that Black men in Venus Williams' circle were not checking for her. When they came at her sister, Serena, with that mess and asked her why she didn't marry a Black man, she said because a Black man never asked her hand in marriage. Is she supposed to be single? Or marry a man who she has to take care of, because she is very wealthy? Or who would choose another woman if he had "better" options and he were in her shoes?
